Clark & Brook's wedding

After the engagement session and bridals, I knew this wedding was going to be fun. I had a great time with Clark and Brook doing the engagements, and not just because these two were so beautiful. They were very willing to take as long as we needed to in order to get the shots right, and they turned our great. The wedding was very relaxed and that always makes it easy to shoot. The ceremony and reception were held @ the Creekside in Driftwood, TX. The Salt Lick is just across the street. Is it a sin that I haven't eaten there yet? I know I need to. Cakes by Lori made the cakes and they were amazing. The shark cake was all eaten up within 5 minutes of the cutting so I didn't get to try it but I snuck a peanut butter ball. :-) Yum! The main cake was very good though. I wanted 2 pieces. The flowers were from Breathtaking Blooms, which were very simple and fit the theme of the wedding well. I really liked the Rosary, nice touch. Great day!

When you are taking a photograph, do you take it in that moment and envision it exactly as-is, or do you shoot with a particular retouching style/vision in mind?

I try not to think of post production at all when I am shooting. I don't really do much to photos in post anyway. It's all about the moment. <-- what a cheesy answer...

What's it like being chummy with internet sensation Leah Muse and occasionally getting mentioned on her blog? I imagine it's like being one of Truman Capote's society friends.

Leah is very much like Capote actually. She is always the life of the party.

Valentine

My Valentine is my wife, but that will never keep me from trying, trying to make her smile, trying to make her laugh, trying to surprise her. I thank God for her.

Below are the first few lines of how I proposed to her. I wrote this using a simple flashlight and a 30 second exposure in the garage. This is what I was "building" for her.

What's your favorite food?

French. I <3 butter!

What is the best meal you've ever eaten? (That someone else made!)

The last time I went to Vespaio I had a special that included homemade pork sausage with goat cheese, steak and baguette kabobs, a great version of Potatoes Anna, roasted duck breast with cranberry sauce and a "Tower of Goodness" - which is bone marrow. Scooping the marrow out of the shank is the best part. I tried this for the first time in culinary school and it changed my life.
